Privacy

Last updated October 3, 2026

A wish is a private thing between two people. We collect only what it takes to make and deliver one, we don't sell or share it for advertising, and you can ask us to delete it.

What we collect

When you send a wish, you give us:

  • The wish itself: the recipient’s name, your name, the occasion if you chose one, and the message you wrote.
  • Your email, entered on Stripe’s payment page, so you get a receipt and, if you scheduled a reminder, that reminder.
  • The recipient’s email, only if you ask us to email the wish for you. We use it to deliver that one wish and for nothing else.
  • Delivery details: the date, time and time zone, if you scheduled the wish.
  • Payment records from Stripe: that a $5 payment succeeded and its reference numbers. We never see or store your card number.

Recipients don’t need an account and don’t give us anything. We don’t record who opened a wish, when, or how many times.

The free wallpapers and blessing emails

If you ask for the free wallpapers, we keep your email address, which wallpaper you picked, where you signed up, and when you agreed. We use it to send the wallpapers, then a short blessing on 初一 and 十五, the new and full moon, about twice a month. Nothing else, and never a charge.

Every one of those emails has a one-click Unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe we stop at once, and we keep a note that you did so we never write again by mistake. Want the address removed entirely? Email support@luckyqi.com.

This list is separate from wishes. We never add someone to it because they sent or received a wish, and we never email the person you send a wish to.

What stays on your device

While you write a wish, the draft is saved in your own browser so it survives the trip to the payment page and back. After you pay, your browser also remembers your most recent wish so the confirmation page can show it, and whether you muted the sound in a ritual. None of that is sent to us until you pay. Clearing your browser data removes it.

We don’t set advertising or analytics cookies. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

The private link

Each wish lives at a long, random web address. Anyone who has that address can open the wish, so share it the way you’d share anything personal. We ask search engines not to index these pages, and link previews show only the two names as you typed them (“A wish for Mei”), never your message.

Who helps us run LuckyQi

We use a small number of companies to operate the service. Each receives only what it needs:

  • Stripe processes payments and sends receipts.
  • Supabase stores wishes in our database.
  • Resend delivers the emails you ask us to send, and keeps the list of people who asked for the blessing emails.
  • Vercel hosts the website.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. We would disclose information only if the law required it.

How long we keep a wish

A wish is meant to be replayed, so we keep it for as long as LuckyQi runs, unless you ask us to remove it. Either the sender or the recipient can ask. Email support@luckyqi.com with the link, and we’ll delete the wish and the link will stop working. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, wherever you live. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, along with the right not to be treated differently for using them. Email support@luckyqi.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

LuckyQi is for adults. You must be 18 or older to buy a wish, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we’ll remove it.

Changes and contact

If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions are welcome at support@luckyqi.com, or see the contact page.
