Terms

Last updated October 3, 2026

These are the terms for using LuckyQi. By sending a wish you agree to them. We've kept them short and tried to say only what matters.

What a wish is

A LuckyQi wish is a digital greeting. You choose one of six wishes, write a short message, and pay. We turn it into a private web page that plays a two-minute animated ritual with your words in it, and we give you a link to share, or email it to your recipient if you ask us to.

A wish is a gesture of care, not a treatment, a service, or a promise. It draws on a Chinese Buddhist custom of asking for blessings on someone’s behalf. We make no claim that a wish will change anyone’s health, fortune, safety, or circumstances, and it is not medical, financial, or spiritual advice.

Price and payment

A wish costs $5 (US dollars), paid once. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card statement may show LuckyQi or our operating company’s name.

If something goes wrong, see Refunds.

What you may send

The message is yours, and you’re responsible for it. Please don’t use LuckyQi to:

  • harass, threaten, or deceive anyone, or contact someone who has asked you not to;
  • send anything unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit;
  • impersonate another person;
  • send bulk or commercial messages.

If you ask us to email a wish, you’re telling us you have a personal relationship with that person and that a message from you is welcome. We may remove a wish, without refund, if it breaks these rules.

The link is the key

There are no accounts. Anyone with a wish’s link can open it, so keep it as private as you’d like the wish to be. If a link ends up somewhere it shouldn’t, email us and we’ll take the wish down.

What we promise, and what we can't

We’ll work to keep every wish available to replay for as long as LuckyQi operates. We can’t promise the service will never be interrupted, and if we ever have to close, we’ll give as much notice as we reasonably can.

LuckyQi is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a wish is limited to what you paid for it.

Our work and yours

The artwork, animation, and design of LuckyQi belong to us; please don’t copy or resell them. Your message stays yours. You give us permission to store and display it only so we can deliver your wish. We will never use your message, or a recipient’s name, in our marketing without written permission.

The fine print

You must be 18 or older to buy a wish. These terms are governed by the laws of California. If we change them, we’ll update this page and its date; the terms in force when you bought a wish apply to that wish. Our privacy page explains how we handle information.
